Roles: who can do what
Owner, manager, cashier, the no-cash floor role (waiter / stock associate / trainer) and cook — what each sees.
IntelliPOS gives each person exactly the access their job needs.
Owner
Sees everything: money, reports, settings, staff pay, and every location. Only the owner can change plans, see full profit, and grant sensitive permissions.
Manager
Runs day-to-day operations — products, the floor, stock, staff scheduling. A manager sees sales reports only if the owner turns on Let managers open Reports; net profit and the expense breakdown always stay owner-only.
Cashier
Works the till: rings sales, takes payment, prints receipts, opens and closes their cash drawer. Cashiers stay on the till — the back office is off-limits so no one inherits the owner's access on a shared device.
The no-cash staff role
One role for staff who never touch money — no drawer, no shift, no settling. It wears the right name for your business type:
- Stock associate (retail & pharmacy) — their sign-in opens a stock lookup screen: search any product by name or barcode and see the price, how many are in stock, and low-stock warnings. Perfect for shelf staff and the person receiving deliveries — they help customers and check stock without ever holding the drawer.
- Waiter (restaurants) — works the floor: opens tables, takes orders, sends them to the kitchen. Settling the bill stays with the cashier.
- Trainer (gyms) — checks members in at the door, never touches cash.
Cook (restaurants)
Sees only the Kitchen Display — the live list of what to prepare. Nothing else.
Tip: roles are set per person when you add them in Team — the invite list already shows the right name for your business type. You can change someone's role any time.
