Customer creditCredit (Dayn)

Selling on credit, collecting repayments, and undoing mistakes.

Customer credit lets trusted customers take goods now and pay later — a core part of how many shops trade.

Selling on credit

Selling on credit starts off for a new business: the owner switches it on once in Settings → Credit, and every till offers it from then on. Then attach a customer at the till and choose Customer credit as the payment. The amount is added to their tab.

Who can see the total

Cashiers and waiters can record credit and take repayments, but only owners and managers can see how much a customer owes in total. Staff see a simple "credit" marker instead of the figure — the customer's privacy is protected.

Collecting a repayment

Take a repayment at the till (Collect a tab) and pick how they paid: cash goes into your open drawer and clears the credit in one step; card clears the tab without touching the drawer. Because that money never reaches a drawer, repayments your staff record that way are listed for the owner in the morning summary, the end-of-day message and the AI Analyst.

Recording a repayment from the dashboard instead (owner/manager)? The form asks "Where is this cash?" — pick a cashier's drawer only if the notes physically went into that tray; otherwise leave "With me" and no drawer is touched. That's why shift closes always match what's actually in the drawer, even when the office records payments from elsewhere.

At the till

Attach the customer and tap their amber Owes chip: their balance, their history, and Collect — even with an empty cart. Collecting needs a connection.

Chasing overdue tabs

On the Credit tab, tap an age chip (31-60 days, 61-90, 90+) to see only customers owing that long, oldest first, each with a one-tap Remind on WhatsApp. Reports → Credit health has the same shortcut: Remind the overdue customers.

Seeing the history

On the dashboard, the Customer credit tab shows who owes now (Debtors) and every take, payment and reversal for any period (Activity). Tap a customer for their full statement — every event with the running balance, like a bank statement. Each credit taken links to its exact receipt.

Undoing a mistake

Before you confirm a reversal the screen shows Owes now → after, so the effect is plain. Cleared the wrong person? An owner (or a manager you've allowed) can Reverse it: the debt comes back with a linked red entry, the original stays marked "Reversed", and a written reason goes on the permanent record. Nothing is ever silently deleted.

Typed the wrong amount? Use Fix amount on the collection instead — enter what it should have been, and the balance plus every report re-adjust themselves. Under the hood it's a reversal + a corrected entry, so the permanent record shows exactly what happened. (If the physical cash in the drawer was also wrong, record that pay-in/out separately.)

In your reports

Repayments you collect are added back into your totals correctly — across the dashboard and even in platform reports — so credit never distorts the picture.
