NewWebsite orders chime at the till

Customers & loyalty

Customer profiles, loyalty points and store credit.

Customers

Attach a customer to a sale at the till (+ Attach customer) to build their history. Each customer has a profile: their purchases, loyalty, store credit and customer credit balance — everything in one place. Add or edit customers in the dashboard under Customers.

Loyalty points

Turn on loyalty in Settings and customers earn points as they spend. Points can be redeemed against a future sale. If loyalty is off, no points surfaces show anywhere — it's a clean switch.

Store credit

A customer can hold store credit (e.g. from a return) and spend it later. It's separate from customer credit, which is money they owe you.

One customer, however the number is typed

A phone number is matched by its digits, not the way it's written — so "(404) 555-0192", "404-555-0192" and "+1 404 555 0192" are the same person, at the till, the member desk, a table, a website sign-up or an import. Search works the same way, online and offline: type part of the number any way you like. A phone typed at the till for a walk-in finds the customer you already have, or saves them for next time.

Merge duplicates

If a customer was saved twice, open one profile and Merge the duplicate in — their sales, points, store credit and credit balance all combine onto one record, nothing lost.

Archiving — and bringing someone back

Archiving tucks a customer out of your lists without deleting anything. Two rules keep the money honest:

  • A customer who still owes you on customer credit can't be archived — collect or correct the debt first. A debt never disappears by hiding the person.
  • Archived by mistake? Open their profile and tap Restore customer — their history and balances come back into every list and total, exactly as they were.
